4 Palm Coast Races You Can Attend Between Now and April 2017

This year, you are determined to check “run a 5K” off your list of Your New Year’s Resolutions. You’ve probably already bought a FitBit or other fitness tracker, read countless articles about running marathons, and bought new sneakers to start your New Year off right. If you’re determined to stay active in the New Year, consider participating in one of these races in the Palm Coast area.

January: Matanzas 5000 in St. Augustine

Date: January 21, 2017 | Time: 8:00 AM

Start the New Year off with the scenic Matanzas 5000 race in nearby St. Augustine, about 40 minutes from Palm Coast. After you finish this 5K, you can spend the day exploring this beautiful city, then finish your evening by visiting the St. Augustine Nights of Lights.

February: Race the Runways at Flagler Airport

What better place to start a race than on the tarmac of the local airport? This unique 5K starts close to sundown, and when the first runner reaches the lights, the runway will light up in spectacular fashion. Race the Runways is a 5K and untimed walk that benefits the Rotary Club.

March: Superhero 5K at Central Park

Date: March 4, 2017 | Time: 8:00 AM

Bring your cape to Central Park in Palm Coast for this fun 5K and kids’ races. The Superhero 5K, as well as the Destiny Kids Dash and Super Loop, is a walk/run that benefits the Palm Coast Community Child Center. Register before February 3, 2017 to get a race t-shirt!

April: Mission Possible 5K in Flagler Beach

Date: April 8, 2017 | Time: 8:00 AM

On the second Saturday of April, head to Santa Maria del Mar Church on North Central Avenue for this race, which benefits the church’s youth program. The Mission Possible 5K is Saturday at 8:00 AM and the Bolt for Brian event is Sunday at 9:15 AM. Last year, over 100 runners participated in this Flagler Beach race.
